The natural next step from k4 would be a4/5, and then a4/6 once you feel the Sniper is winning too easily again. What I'd suggest would be to use Experienced mode to split the difference and find the right balance for you.
Basically, you go from the Sniper only needing to camp one mission on Beginner's k4 to the Sniper needing to camp 4 missions on Intermediate's a4/7. The jump from Known 4 (k4) to Any 4 of 7 (a4/7) is extreme for new Snipers. Generally, I don't advise any new players hoping to improve to jump straight from Beginner mode to Intermediate. Also the bag of the ambassador is added as additional element. Some missions have additional ways to do them like microfilm there are now 2 possibilities. Experienced has action tests which can yield different results or hard tells on missions. There is so much more but I'm not sure what could be considered beginner friendly tips and which are more advanced stuff.Īs suggested, have a read through the wiki I linked but be aware of the differences between intermediate and advanced mode. This way you might spot the spy when he puts down the statue too early or too late. Try and learn how long an animation cycle lasts by observing NPC's who grab statues and inspect them. They do go to empty conversation circles though, but will leave after 1 animation cycle if nobody else joins. If you see someone standing alone in a conversation circle for an extended time, it's the spy.
NPC's won't spend more than 1 animation cycle alone in a conversation circle. It's possible an NPC will just move to a window spot right next to the one they came from though and check time again. If you see someone checking the watch (even if not adding time) 3 times in a row without moving anywhere else first, it is the spy. Also they will not spend more than 2 animation cycles in such an action field. An NPC will never go to a statue and then walk back without inspecting a statue. NPC's will always do a corresponding action when going to a window, bookshelf or statue. If someone just took a drink, then goes to the statues you can immediately tell that he is the spy. If you spot someone taking 2 sips in front of a statue or bookshelf, he is the spy. NPC's with a drink in their hand will only go to statues or bookshelf if they have 1 sip in their drink left (or no drink of course). Maybe some easy general tips that don't go too much into advanced stuff: There is so much to know about the game and many ways to find a spy. and some are mainly looking for hard tells and camping several objectives or even a mix of all. Some snipers are almost exclusively looking for tells in behaviorism and pathing etc. Generally I can advise to have a read through the games wiki where a lot of really good information is gathered.īasically there are several ways to play as sniper.
